About the game
Garden Caterpillar is a classic snake game where you steer a caterpillar around a small garden to eat leaves. Each leaf makes the caterpillar one segment longer and gives you 10 points.
There is no wrapping through walls. The round ends when the head touches the edge of the board or its own body. The caterpillar moves a little faster with every leaf, so you need to plan your path ahead later in the round.
Your score and best score are saved only in this browser on this device and are never sent to a server. If you fill every square, you have completed the garden and the round ends.

Computer controls
- Use the arrow keys or W, A, S, D to turn the caterpillar.
- Press Space or Enter to start, and press it during play to pause.
- You cannot turn straight back the way you came.
Smartphone controls
- Swipe a finger across the board in the direction you want to go.
- You can also use the arrow buttons under the board.
- The game pauses automatically if you leave the screen.
Good to know
- There is no option to pass through walls. Hitting a wall or yourself ends the round.
- Each leaf is worth 10 points and the speed rises a little with each one until it reaches a limit.
- The best score is saved only in this browser.
- There are no ads inside the game screen.
