About the game
Number Slide Puzzle asks you to slide shuffled number tiles one square at a time into the empty space until they run in order from 1. The 3x3 board is relaxed and the 4x4 board needs more thinking.
The shuffle is calculated so that it only produces boards that can be solved. The game counts how many pairs of numbers are out of order and checks the row of the empty space, and if a board cannot be solved it swaps two tiles to fix it.
The number of moves and the time taken are shown, and the lowest move count for each of 3x3 and 4x4 is saved only in this browser on this device.
